Cat Room

This is my Cat Room. Not 'Cat Box', not 'Cat House', but Cat ROOM. ;-)

The cats and furnishings have not been added yet.

One picture shows the room without lights, and one shows it with lights turned on. Notice the garden scene outside the window. The background photo is from my friend Jan's real garden. Cats seem to like Jan, and her garden, so the picture seemed appropriate for this roombox.

The cats have moved in!

~~ A Rocking Chair in a Room Full of Cats ~~

I discovered that I had collected a lot of miniature cats. They looked homeless sitting on my shelves, so I decided to build them a place to live until they are adopted by other projects.

The parts for the roombox were given to me by one of my club members, Judy Christiansen. The walls, floor, and ceiling are made of plywood and ceiling tiles. I covered the exterior with paw-print fabric. I made the interior walls from foamcore. The floors are covered with 'hardwood' that I made from veneer. The door, window, railing, and moldings are from Houseworks. I built the shelves, the window seat, and the cabinet. The wiring for the lighting was done by Ed.

My catroom was shown in the May/June 2001 Gazette

See next page for closeups of some of the cats and accessories.
