The kitchen is the last room I finished. I didn't consider the dollhouse 'done' until the kitchen appliances were finished.
I used a kit to make the kitchen counters and appliances, but I 'kitbashed' it. I made the counter tops from Granitex, and made the tile backspashes from Sculpey.
The curtains are made from tiny gingham check, and are hung from rods I made from brass tubing and post earrings.
I made the table and chairs. The chair legs and table legs were made from Shenandoah turned pieces. I caned the chairs with DMC tapestry cotton. On the table are a set of salt and pepper shakers I made from beads and jewelry findings.
On top of the wall cabinets are some of the teapots I am collecting. (I love teapots!) I purchased a teapot each time I placed an order to Hobby Builders Supply. Two of the teapots are gifts from my friend, Sandy D.
On the counter are some name mugs, "Ed" and "Alice", that my sister gave to me. Also present is some fruit in a wooden bowl. I purchased the bowl at the Seattle Mini show. (It was the first time I ever attended a mini show, and I hope it isn't the last!) Jill Lynne Ness made the fruit. On the table, is also a gift fruit basket made by Jill. It was a prize for an on-line contest I entered and won.
