The center photo above was taken before I was done decorating the house, but
I put it on this page because it shows the stained glass doors better
than the newer photos.
The kit I used for the furniture was made by Scientific Models. The
kit is one of the first ones I ever assembled (back when I was a teenager).
The upholstery that came with the kit is a green floral print on white. When
I built the sofa and chair, I used the fabric that came with the kit. However,
after a couple of decades the fabric looks very dated, and it clashes with the
wallpaper I chose for this room, so I reupholstered the sofa and chair
with burgandy and pink fabrics.
The living room in the Tennyson is tiny. The fireplace uses one wall
and the French doors take up most of another wall. There is not much room for
furniture, so the secretary that came with the kit will not fit in this room.
However, a grandfather clock that I built from another kit fits in the
corner near the french doors.
The pictures on the walls are Monet 'paintings'. I used a color printer to
print on cardstock, then I made frames from pieces of miniture picture frame
moulding. The pictures in the study and the bedroom were made the same way.
The cat reclining on the chair is Mini Pooh. I painted a pewter cat black,
to represent my real cat, Pooh. (Mini Tigger, his brother, is in the
bedroom, hiding under the bed.) The Edwardian lady visitor is the 5th
doll kit I assembled.
All the other accessories in the living room were purchased.
